A typical online converter receives your file on its server, transforms it, then sends the result back: the document has made a round trip through a machine you don't control. Here everything happens in the tab — JavaScript libraries read the file from your disk, build the PDF in memory and trigger a local download. Not a single byte leaves the network. That's what lets you handle a contract, a report card or an ID document without exposing them.
Images (PNG, JPG, WEBP…) are placed as-is, one per page, at their original resolution. Text files (TXT, Markdown, CSV) are laid out cleanly. For a Word document, a PowerPoint or a spreadsheet with rich layout, however, the tool does content extraction: it recovers the text, headings and tables, but not the exact fonts, columns or boxes. For output identical to the original, export the PDF from the software that created the document.

The only limit is your browser's memory. A few tens of MB are fine; a file of several hundred MB may make the tab sluggish.
Spreadsheets are converted by extracting values, not by capturing the grid. To keep the formatting, print the sheet to PDF from Excel or LibreOffice.
