Retro-futuristic cockpit with three consoles — coordinates, speed, trajectory — and a central launch lever facing a starlit viewport

Flight Order

Three consoles to fill in before you can confirm launch towards the captain's quarters.

Destination Coordinates

Navigation console showing the solar system and, off to the side, Proxima Centauri

A signal in radio alphabet spells out the name of a star already crossed on your route:
Papa Romeo Oscar X-ray India Mike Alpha
Find, in the galactic registers, the distance that separates you from it — expressed in the fastest unit there is — and keep its first four digits.

Speed

To reach the red planet from low orbit, add up the fuel toll to pay at each stage: the launch to low orbit, the great interplanetary leap, and the final braking around the red planet.

Trajectory

Add the sine of an angle that marks the start of spring, the cosine of its double, and the tangent of the angle that cuts the circle into equal parts. Multiply the sum by a hundred: that's your heading.
